What is the most common treatment for thyroid cancer?

My aunt has been dealing with thyroid issues for years, and now her doctor mentioned the possibility of cancer. If it turns out to be thyroid cancer, what's the most common treatment they usually recommend?

At Apollo Hospitals, my doctor explained that the most common treatment for thyroid cancer is surgery to remove part or all of the thyroid gland. He always encouraged me to ask all my questions about procedures. So, if you're dealing with this, speak to your specialist directly for a clear treatment plan.

I'm just curious about this one. From what I've researched, surgery, usually a thyroidectomy to remove the gland, seems to be the primary treatment for most types of thyroid cancer. And then sometimes radioactive iodine therapy afterwards.

For thyroid cancer, surgery to remove the thyroid gland is the main treatment, followed by hormone replacement. Diet supports recovery, but it's not a treatment for cancer itself. Always follow your doctor's plan; don't rely on diet alone for this serious condition.

Most health apps and medical sites confirm that surgery, specifically a thyroidectomy, is the go-to treatment for thyroid cancer. Afterwards, radioactive iodine therapy is common, and then lifelong thyroid hormone pills. It's a well-established protocol.

I underwent a total thyroidectomy for thyroid cancer last year. That's the most common treatment. After that, I also had radioactive iodine therapy. It was a tough journey, but I'm doing well now with daily hormone replacement pills. Early detection makes a huge difference.
