What is nesting in pregnancy?

I'm in my last trimester and suddenly have this urge to clean every corner of the house, even though I'm tired. My mother-in-law said it's 'nesting.' Could someone explain what exactly nesting in pregnancy is?

Beti, nesting in pregnancy is when the mother-to-be feels a very strong desire to make her home clean and ready for the baby. She wants everything perfect. It's a very natural feeling from within. Just remember to take help and not tire yourself too much, rest is also important.

When I was pregnant, I suddenly got this crazy energy to scrub floors and alphabetize my spice rack, and I thought, 'Am I going mad?' Then my mom told me it's just 'nesting'! It's totally normal, that intense urge to get everything ready for the baby. So don't worry if you suddenly feel like re-organizing your entire house!

I've heard about nesting, where you suddenly want to clean and organize everything before the baby arrives. It sounds a bit overwhelming! Does it feel like an uncontrollable urge, or more like just extra energy? I'm due soon and I'm wondering if I'll feel it, and if it's normal to feel a bit anxious about it.

Nesting, oh yes! It's when your pregnant wife suddenly has the energy of ten men to clean the entire house at 2 AM. My wife did that. It's her body's way of saying, 'Baby coming, must prepare a super clean lair!' Just make sure she doesn't try to lift the fridge. A little humor helps, but also serious about not overdoing it.

Nesting is a common instinct during pregnancy, like preparing the home for the baby. But I remember during my difficult pregnancy, my doctor advised me to be really careful not to overexert myself with cleaning or lifting. So, while it's natural, always check with your doctor about what activities are safe for you given your specific pregnancy condition.

Nesting in pregnancy refers to the overwhelming urge many expectant mothers experience to organize, clean, and prepare their home for the baby's arrival. This behavior is instinctual, often intensifying in the third trimester. It's generally a healthy part of the maternal preparation process.
