What is implantation in pregnancy?

My husband and I are trying to conceive. I've been reading a lot about pregnancy and keep seeing the word 'implantation'. Could someone explain what implantation in pregnancy is?

Implantation is simply when the fertilized egg attaches itself to the lining of your uterus to start growing. It usually happens about 6 to 12 days after conception. You might feel mild cramping or see a tiny bit of spotting, which is completely normal, so don't worry.

It is when the baby-to-be makes itself at home in the womb! Once that implantation happens, get ready for the legendary food cravings to slowly start. Focus on eating some good, nourishing home-cooked meals now.

I am currently in my two-week wait and felt some mild cramping yesterday. Is that really implantation or just my period coming early? Did anyone else feel light cramps and still get a positive pregnancy test?

Haan na, initially even I didn't know what this meant! It is just when the tiny embryo settles in the womb. Sometimes thoda light pink spotting happens, which is very common ho na, so don't get scared.

Exactly, it is just the fertilized egg attaching to the uterine wall. Sometimes you might mistake the light spotting for an early period, but it's just implantation.

I remember waiting anxiously for any sign of implantation during our fertility journey, and the emotional roller coaster was so exhausting. It is just the egg attaching to the uterus. Please be gentle with yourself during this waiting period, your feelings are totally valid.
