What is hypertension in pregnancy?

My blood pressure has been a little high since I got pregnant. My doctor mentioned 'hypertension in pregnancy' and I'm a bit worried. Could someone explain what this means for me and the baby?

Just like I have to monitor my thyroid closely, hypertension in pregnancy requires constant blood pressure monitoring. It can lead to complications like preeclampsia if ignored. Keep checking your BP daily and never miss your doctor visits.

I had high BP in my third trimester last year and was put on safe BP medications. It was scary, but regular doctor follow-ups and a low-salt diet kept my baby safe. Please monitor your urine protein levels as advised by your doctor.

My wife had gestational hypertension during her pregnancy. We consulted a high-risk pregnancy specialist who clearly explained the monitoring steps. Ask your doctor about symptoms like sudden swelling or headaches to watch out for.

Hey, don't stress too much! High BP during pregnancy is very common and easily managed with the right doctor's help. Just take your prescribed medicines on time, listen to soothing music, and get plenty of comfortable rest.

High blood pressure and gestational diabetes often go hand in hand. You must be extremely careful with both salt and refined sugar intake during this time. Stick strictly to whole grains and boiled vegetables as recommended.

While drinking coconut water and eating garlic can support healthy circulation, please do not rely only on home tips for pregnancy hypertension. It is a sensitive phase, so always keep your doctor's emergency contact number handy.

Please take good care of yourself. High blood pressure during these months is manageable with proper medical care, so just follow your gynecologist's instructions closely.
