What is considered sudden weight gain?

I've suddenly gained about 4-5 kg in the last month without any change in my diet or activity. What is considered 'sudden weight gain'? Should I be worried about this?

Gaining 2 to 3 kgs in a single week is usually considered sudden weight gain. For someone like me with high BP, this sudden gain often means water retention, so it's always good to get your heart and kidney checked.

I once gained 3 kgs in just 4 days and totally panicked thinking something was seriously wrong! It turned out to be just PMS-related bloating and water weight, which went away on its own. Don't worry too much.

In clinical terms, gaining more than 1-2 kgs in a week is sudden. It's usually fluid retention rather than actual fat, which can be due to thyroid issues or medication side effects. Best to consult your doctor.

Gaining several kilograms in a very short span of a week is considered sudden weight gain. Please monitor your other symptoms and see a healthcare provider to stay safe.

If you are gaining weight rapidly within a few days, it is often a sign of hormonal imbalance or stagnant energy. Gentle stretching, drinking warm water, and mindful eating can help restore your body's natural balance.
