What is coning in pregnancy?

I'm pregnant with my first child, and I've started noticing my belly shape changing sometimes, especially when I sit up. My sister mentioned it might be 'coning'. What exactly is coning in pregnancy, and is it normal?

Yes, it is just the abdominal muscles separating under pressure. Rolling to your side before getting up helps a lot to reduce it.

Mera bhi pet beech se aise tikona ho jata tha jab main uthti thi. Humare yahan kehte hain ki zyada jhatke se nahi uthna chahiye. Aap bas dhire se karwat lekar utha karo, sab theek ho jayega beta.

It usually indicates diastasis recti, which is the separation of stomach muscles. Even though it is common, you should definitely show it to your doctor. They can guide you if you need a maternity support band or specific exercises.

Haan, ye pregnancy me muscles stretch hone ki wajah se hota hai. Jab hum straight uthte hain toh beech me pressure banta hai na, wahi hai ye. Dr. se ek baar confirm kar lo par darna mat.

My wife went through this and we panicked thinking the baby was trying to escape or something. Turns out it is just the tummy muscles taking a break from holding things together. Nothing to lose sleep over, just get up slowly like an old man!

My mother-in-law told me to tie a soft cotton saree around the belly, but I asked my doctor first. She explained it is coning due to muscle separation and advised mild prenatal physio. Better to consult your gynaecologist before trying any traditional wraps.

During my wife's pregnancy, she had this coning issue along with high blood pressure. We had to be very careful with her movements and routine checkups. Please keep a close watch on your body changes and update your doctor during every visit.

My partner had this when she was trying to do her normal crunches in the second trimester. The gym trainer told her to stop immediately because it puts too much pressure on the midline. Check with your doc before doing any core exercises.
