BCG is basically a TB vaccine liquid that doctors put inside the bladder to kill cancer cells. It is not chemotherapy, so don't worry about hair loss or anything like that. Just follow the instructions, hold the liquid for 2 hours, and you will be absolutely fine.

My husband had this BCG treatment, and trying to make him sit still for two hours with a full bladder was the hardest part! It is a very common way to treat early bladder cancer. Just laugh it off, keep a book ready, and let the doctors do their job.

It is an immunotherapy treatment. While going through BCG, keeping your body well-hydrated and eating clean, nutrient-dense food will help your immune system fight better. Avoid heavy workouts on the day of instillation, just rest up and resume light activity when you feel up to it.

We got this treatment done at a government hospital where it is very affordable. If you are worried about the cost, check if your insurance covers daycare procedures because BCG only takes a couple of hours in the ward. Plan your transport beforehand so you can go straight home and rest.

According to my doctor, BCG works by stimulating an immune response that attacks any leftover cancer cells in the bladder lining. They usually start with a 6-week induction course followed by maintenance doses. He emphasized that completing the full course is crucial for long-term success.

My aunt had BCG treatment last year and she was so scared initially. But the hospital staff was so gentle and explained that it is just a local immunotherapy. She finished all her sessions and is completely cancer-free now, so please stay positive!

BCG treatment is highly local and doesn't affect your whole body like general chemotherapy. Just like I have to monitor my thyroid levels regularly, you will need routine cystoscopies to check if the bladder remains clear. Regular follow-ups are the key to staying healthy.

During my relative's treatment, they used BCG instillation weekly for six weeks. He had some mild fever and burning, but the doctor managed those side effects easily with standard medication. That is all I can share based on what we observed in our family.

Don't go looking for alternative therapies online to replace BCG. It is the most clinically proven treatment to prevent recurrence of superficial bladder tumors. Always verify the schedule and dosage details directly with your supervising urologist.

I had my BCG treatment almost ten years ago and I am still going strong. Yes, there is some discomfort, but it is a small price to pay for your life. Trust the doctors, don't worry about the future, and take it one day at a time.
