What happens when you hit your deductible for health insurance?

I'm looking into getting health insurance for my family and trying to understand the terms better. If I hit my deductible, what happens next regarding medical costs? Do I pay nothing, or still some portion?

Beta, jab tumhara deductible poora ho jaata hai na, toh uske baad company thoda jyada paisa deti hai tumhare ilaaj ka. Jaise agar tumne 10,000 ka deductible bhara hai, toh uske baad jo kharcha aayega, usme se company jyada hissa degi. Thoda araam mil jaata hai, haan.

Ah, that's like reaching a milestone, isn't it? Once your deductible is met, the burden eases a little. It's a good reminder to be mindful of our health, so we don't have to keep meeting these deductibles often. Regular practice of yoga helps keep those medical bills away, sometimes.

Okay, so once you hit your deductible, it means you've paid that initial amount out of your pocket for medical services. After that, your insurance usually starts paying a bigger percentage of your bills, and you just pay a smaller portion, maybe a co-insurance. It's a relief when you get there!

Basically, once you pay up your deductible, the insurance company steps up more. Like, last year I had a bike accident, and after my initial payments hit the deductible, suddenly my bills were way less cause insurance was covering 80-90%. It's kinda nice to finally hit that point, less stress on the wallet.

Hitting your deductible means you've paid the agreed-upon amount for covered medical services within your policy period. Once met, your insurance company typically starts paying a larger percentage of your subsequent medical costs, usually 70-90%, and you pay the remaining co-insurance until you reach your out-of-pocket maximum. It significantly reduces your financial burden for further treatments that year.

Oh, so like after paying a certain amount, the insurance covers more? That sounds good. But then, is there a limit to how much they cover after that? Or do they pay everything after hitting deductible?
