What happens when you have a high fever?

My son had a really high fever last night, 104 degrees, and it scared me. Other than feeling hot, what really happens to your body when you have such a high fever? Should I be more worried?

A high fever signifies your body's immune response to an infection. You'll experience severe body aches, chills, fatigue, and possibly headache. It's crucial to stay hydrated, take antipyretics like paracetamol, and monitor your temperature. If it persists beyond 48-72 hours or goes above 103°F, consult a doctor immediately, as it could indicate a serious underlying condition.

When you have a high fever, your whole body feels like it's burning, you get bad body aches, sometimes shivers, and you feel completely exhausted. It's your body fighting off an infection. Best thing to do is rest, drink plenty of water and ORS, and take a paracetamol. If it stays very high or doesn't go down in a couple of days, please see a doctor. Don't ignore it.

A high fever? Oh, that's when your body decides to turn into a human furnace. You get the chills, the sweats, everything aches, and your brain feels like it's running Windows 95. All you want to do is curl up and disappear. And suddenly, even walking to the fridge feels like a marathon. 😂 But seriously, hydrate and see a doc if it's too high or long-lasting.

A high fever can really deplete your energy. It's important to eat light, easily digestible vegetarian food during this time, like khichdi, dal, or vegetable soup. Avoid anything oily or spicy. Plenty of fluids like clear broths, coconut water, and nimbu pani are essential to prevent dehydration. But if it's very high or lasts long, medical consultation is a must.

I just recovered from a high fever last week. It was awful! My head was throbbing, body felt like it got run over by a truck, and I was shivering constantly. I kept taking paracetamol, sponging with cool water, and drinking lots of fluids. The doctor said it was a viral, but to watch out for any other symptoms. It definitely drained me for days.

When you have a high fever, your body is really fighting something. You'll feel weak, body aches, and might shiver even when hot. For normal fevers, we often use cold compresses, drink tulsi ka kadha, and rest. But if the fever is very high, like above 102-103, or it doesn't go down in a day or two, you absolutely must see a doctor. Don't take risks with high fever.
