What happens when prostate cancer spreads to the bones?

My elder brother has prostate cancer, and the doctor said they are checking for spread, especially to the bones. What happens when prostate cancer spreads to the bones? Is it very painful or debilitating?

My neighbor had this. The main thing he complained about was bone pain, especially in his back and hips. Doctors gave him medicines to manage the pain and also treatments to strengthen the bones. It's a serious stage, and requires continuous medical care.

When prostate cancer metastasizes to bones, it usually means advanced disease. Key issues are bone pain, fractures, and nerve compression. Treatment focuses on pain management, bone-strengthening meds, and systemic therapy to control cancer spread. Get a comprehensive oncology consultation without delay.

It's a tough situation for sure. When prostate cancer reaches the bones, it needs very focused medical treatment. Alongside that, maintaining strength through gentle, doctor-approved exercise and good nutrition can really help with overall well-being and managing side effects of treatment. Bones need all the support they can get.

My father-in-law had complications when his cancer spread to the bones. He had severe pain and even some fractures. It's not something to take lightly at all. Please ensure the patient is under constant medical supervision and gets all recommended scans and treatments. Don't delay seeing a good oncologist.

I can tell you from experience, it makes your bones ache like crazy, especially at night. I also felt very tired. The doctors gave me hormone therapy and some injections for my bones, which really helped with the pain and prevented fractures. It's a long journey, but proper treatment makes a big difference.
