What happens when a diabetic sugar is too high?

My father is diabetic and sometimes his sugar readings shoot up really high, like 400 plus. He gets very confused and weak. I want to know what exactly happens inside the body when it gets that high, and what are the immediate dangers.

As a diabetic, I know this struggle too well. When sugar is too high, you feel tired, thirsty, and have to pee a lot. If it stays high, it can damage your organs over time - kidneys, eyes, nerves. That's why carefully monitoring your diet, especially carbs, and taking your medication on time is so crucial. Don't skip meals or meds!

Hey! Don't stress too much, but high sugar definitely needs attention. When it's super high, you can feel really dizzy, confused, and sometimes even get headaches. Longer term, it's not good for your organs. Just focus on your meds and food, and if it's really high, definitely call your doctor right away!

Haan ji, when a diabetic's sugar goes too high, it's called hyperglycemia. You'll feel really thirsty, have blurry vision, and feel very weak. If it's very high for too long, it can lead to serious complications like diabetic ketoacidosis or hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state, which need immediate medical attention. Always keep a check on your sugar levels and follow your doctor's advice carefully.

I used to panic every time my sugar spiked a little, thinking the worst! But generally, if it's just a bit high, you'll feel tired or thirsty. For really high readings, beyond your target, you definitely need to contact your doctor or go to the ER, especially if you're feeling nauseous or having trouble breathing. Don't worry, just be aware and act calmly.

Oh, this sounds serious. So, if someone's sugar is too high, what's the first thing they should do? Like, is there something immediate to bring it down, or should they go to the hospital right away? I'm still learning about all this.
