What happens if you sleep too much?

Lately, I've been sleeping for like 9-10 hours a day, sometimes even more on weekends. My friends joke I'm hibernating, but I actually feel tired even after so much sleep. Is sleeping too much a problem, or am I just being lazy?

Sleeping too much can actually make the mind and body feel very heavy and lethargic, which we call tamas. It is best to maintain a balanced routine of waking up early with the sun. Take care of your health and keep your mind active.

Don't stress too much if you oversleep once in a while, your body probably just needed to recover from a crazy week. Just don't make it a daily habit because then you'll feel lazy all the time. Drink some coffee and get back to your normal routine!

Yaar, actually if I sleep for more than 10 hours, my head starts paining like crazy. It totally ruins my entire day and makes me feel like a zombie. A balanced sleep is so much better than oversleeping on weekends.

My fitness band shows that when I sleep over 9 hours, my sleep quality score actually drops and I wake up feeling groggy. Oversleeping can disrupt your body's circadian rhythm. It is best to stick to a consistent 7-8 hours window every day.

Too much sleep actually slows down your metabolism and can make you feel extremely sluggish throughout the day. It also cuts down the time you could spend being active or working out. Try setting a consistent alarm and get moving.
