What happens if you have gum disease?

My gums often bleed when I brush, and sometimes they feel a bit swollen. My dentist said I might have early gum disease. What happens if I ignore this and let gum disease progress? Can it affect my overall health?

Gum disease or periodontitis can lead to bleeding gums, bad breath, and eventually loose teeth due to bone loss. It is best to visit a dentist for a professional scaling and proper evaluation before it progresses.

I ignored my bleeding gums for years, and it destroyed the bone holding my lower teeth, which required painful surgery. Please see a dentist immediately if you notice bleeding or swollen gums.

I was reading that gum disease is also linked to heart health issues because the bacteria can enter the bloodstream. It's crazy how important dental hygiene actually is!

It can cause discomfort and bleeding, but a dentist can easily treat it with a good cleaning. Take care of your smile.

My daughter had severe gum inflammation, and the dentist taught us how important flossing and regular cleaning are. We started using a soft-bristled brush and her gums are much healthier now.

If you don't treat it, you might end up with no teeth to chew your favorite mutton or paneer! Just go get your teeth cleaned by a doc, it's not as scary as it sounds.
