What happens if you don't have a liver?

A distant relative had a severe accident and had to undergo a major surgery involving her liver. It made me wonder, what happens if a person somehow doesn't have a liver? Is it even possible to live without one?

Don't search for extreme scenarios on the internet. A human being absolutely cannot survive without a liver, even for a few days, because it performs hundreds of vital metabolic functions. If you are researching about liver failure or transplant, please consult a gastroenterologist directly.

I was reading about organ transplants and got a bit confused. Is it true that the liver can grow back if a part of it is donated? I would love to know how that works if anyone has experience with donation.

Surviving without a liver is medically impossible. If someone you know is facing severe liver damage, jaundice, or liver failure, please take them to a major hospital immediately. This requires urgent medical supervision, not online discussion.

When my relative had to undergo a partial liver transplant, the doctors explained that a person cannot survive without a functioning liver. Fortunately, the donor's liver regrows quickly. It was a complex procedure but successful, all thanks to the specialized team.

My father had severe liver cirrhosis and we had to manage his health very carefully under top specialists. Surviving without a functional liver is not possible, and liver diseases can escalate very fast. Please seek immediate professional medical help if there is any issue.

A liver is a vital organ, just like our heart. While we cannot live without it, the good news is that the liver has an amazing ability to regenerate itself if only a part of it is damaged. Take good care of your liver with a healthy diet and avoid self-medicating.

Hey, don't stress too much about these wild medical questions! Obviously, we need our liver to survive. If you are just curious, that's fine, but if you or a family member are feeling unwell, just go get a routine checkup done to be safe.

Oh my god, reading about liver failure always makes me so anxious! It is such a scary thought because the liver does so much for us. If anyone is experiencing any severe pain or yellowing of the skin, please rush to the doctor immediately to be safe.

Beta, the liver is the main engine of our digestive system. To keep it healthy, we should eat fresh, home-cooked food and avoid heavy, greasy oils. If there is a serious liver ailment, always trust the modern doctors rather than trying to cure it at home.

Let's be real—you cannot exist without a liver, period. It filters toxins and processes everything you eat. If you are having symptoms like yellow eyes or severe abdominal swelling, stop googling and get to a hepatologist right away.

While simple herbs like milk thistle can gently support liver health, they cannot replace a liver or cure severe liver failure. If someone is showing serious symptoms like vomiting blood, extreme confusion, or severe jaundice, please take them to a hospital emergency room immediately.

The liver is a very precious organ that cleans our blood. I always make sure to drink warm water with a little lemon in the morning to support my liver health naturally. But yes, for any real liver disease, we must follow the doctor's medicine strictly.
