What happens if u sleep with mascara on?

I love wearing mascara but sometimes I'm too lazy to remove it before bed. My mum always scolds me. What happens if you sleep with mascara on regularly? Will it damage my eyes or eyelashes?

Letting your skin and eyes rest naturally at night is essential for overall well-being. Keeping makeup on blocks this natural resting process. Take care of your health and keep your routine simple.

I am new to eye makeup and sometimes find it really hard to wash off waterproof mascara completely. Does sleeping with a little bit of residue also cause infections?

My sister did this last week and woke up with a super swollen eye and couldn't go to college. It looked really painful. Definitely take those extra two minutes to wash it off.

It is like sleeping with a mask of sweat; it just blocks recovery. Leaving mascara on overnight can lead to painful styes or conjunctivitis. Set a daily evening reminder on your phone to clean your face.

I used to do this so often after late-night parties because I was too lazy to remove it. But my eyelashes started falling out in clumps, which was a huge wake-up call. Now I keep micellar water right next to my bed.

Just like keeping our diet clean, we must keep our skin free of chemicals at night. Mascara can trap dirt and clog the tiny glands near your eyelashes, so please clean it off.

Leaving mascara on overnight stiffens your lashes, making them snap easily when you rub your eyes. It also irritates the cornea. Use a good bi-phasic remover to dissolve it completely before sleeping.

I once ignored a tiny red bump on my eyelid that grew from blocked glands, thinking it would go away. It turned into a nasty infection that required medical treatment. Please don't ignore basic eye hygiene.

Beta, at my age, I can tell you that the skin around your eyes is very delicate. Keeping makeup on overnight will only cause early wrinkles and irritation. Keep it simple and clean.

Yes, sleeping with mascara can make your eyelashes brittle and prone to breaking. It is always best to wipe it off with a gentle makeup remover before bed.

Mascara can harbor bacteria if left on for too long, which increases the risk of eye infections. If you wake up with any pain or yellow discharge, please consult a doctor for antibiotic eye drops.

Haan na, it gets very itchy and uncomfortable in the morning if you don't clean it. It is much better to wash your face with warm water and go to bed fresh.
