What happens if u sleep too much?

I've been feeling very sluggish lately, even though I sleep for 9-10 hours every night. I heard that sleeping too much can also be bad. What happens if you sleep too much? Can it cause health problems?

Don't believe people online saying sleeping too much is a sign of some rare disease. It could just be fatigue, but if it is a daily thing, get a proper blood test done to check your vitamin levels instead of guessing.

I literally worry that sleeping 10 hours means my heart or thyroid is failing, which makes me so anxious! But honestly, sometimes our bodies just need extra rest. Try setting a gentle alarm and drinking water as soon as you wake up.

My physician mentioned that chronic oversleeping, or hypersomnia, can be linked to depression, thyroid imbalances, or sleep apnea. It actually leaves you feeling more groggy due to disrupted sleep cycles. It is best to stick to a strict 7-8 hour window.

Oversleeping completely ruins your morning routine and makes you sluggish for the rest of the workday. Keep your alarm far from your bed and stand up immediately when it rings. Routine is everything.

I was sleeping 11 hours a day and still feeling exhausted last month. I finally got checked and found out I had a severe Vitamin D deficiency. Once I started my supplements, my sleep cycle went back to normal.

Consistent oversleeping is just as bad as sleep deprivation; it messes up your circadian rhythm and can trigger chronic headaches. Force yourself into a proper routine. If it persists, consult a general physician.

I used to sleep for 12 hours a day just to escape my negative thoughts, and waking up felt so heavy and painful. It is really tough when sleep becomes a coping mechanism. Please be kind to yourself and consider talking to a counselor.
