What happens if type 2 diabetes goes untreated?

My elder brother was recently diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes but he's not very disciplined with his medication and diet. I'm concerned, what happens if type 2 diabetes goes completely untreated for a long time?

Untreated diabetes is really risky, yaar. Actually, it slowly starts damaging your kidneys and eyes without you even realizing it. Better to get it sorted before it messes up your body.

I made the mistake of ignoring my high blood sugar for two years, thinking nothing would happen. By the time I went to the clinic, I had developed severe nerve pain in my feet that still troubles me. Please get tested and start your treatment immediately, don't delay it like I did.

Chronically high blood glucose levels can lead to cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, and renal failure over time. It is a progressive condition that requires active clinical management. Please consult an endocrinologist to get a proper treatment and monitoring plan.

If you don't treat it, your daily energy levels will crash and your wounds won't heal. I manage mine with low-carb meals, daily walks, and regular medication prescribed by my doctor. You cannot ignore this; dietary discipline is absolutely necessary.

My dad has this and the doctor told us that ignoring it is super dangerous for the heart. It sounds scary but you can keep it in check easily with meds and proper food. Definitely don't sit on it, get it checked out.
