What happens if i test positive for tb?

A relative of mine recently got tested for TB after having a persistent cough and fever. He's very worried about the results. What happens if I test positive for TB? Is it curable?

If your test is positive, you must start the treatment immediately under a proper chest specialist. I delayed my treatment by two weeks thinking it was a normal cough, and it spread to my pleural cavity, which made the recovery twice as painful. Don't delay even for a day.

My son was diagnosed with TB last year and we were terrified. But the doctors reassured us that with the DOTS treatment, it is completely curable. Please make sure the patient takes their medicines at the exact same time every day and eats a very high-protein diet.

When my report came positive, I cried for three days because of the social stigma and the thought of taking so many medicines. Please know that it is okay to feel scared and overwhelmed right now. But once you start the daily pills, you will physically start feeling much better in just two weeks.

Don't worry, TB is fully curable now. Just visit your nearest government health centre for free medicines and follow-up.

Look, simple baat hai. If the test is positive, go to a government hospital or a private doctor and start the DOTS course today. Do not run after babas or home remedies for this. It is 100% curable but only if you finish the full 6-month medicine course.

Hey, it is just TB, not a death sentence! Think of it as a 6-month forced holiday where you have to eat lots of fruits, milk, and eggs while your family pampers you. Just gobble down those pills on time and you will be absolutely fine.

I have learned to be very cautious with any long-term diagnoses because of my own chronic health issues. A positive TB test requires a lot of patience because the course is long. Please consult a good government clinic or private doctor, follow the full antibiotic course, and don't stop the meds halfway even if you feel completely cured.
