What happens during the power stroke?

My friend is an engineer and he was talking about how engines produce power. He mentioned the 'power stroke'. Can someone simplify what happens during the power stroke in an engine cycle?

Beta, the power stroke is the main stage where actual energy is created to move your vehicle. The compressed fuel-air mixture is ignited, creating high pressure that pushes the piston down. Always ensure good quality fuel is used to keep this process smooth.

The power stroke is when the spark plug ignites the gas, causing a mini-explosion that drives the piston down and runs the car. I ignored a minor engine knock during this phase once, and my engine broke down completely on the highway. Please get any engine issues checked immediately.

During the power stroke, thermal energy is converted into mechanical work as the piston is forced downward. If you are experiencing engine lag or misfires during acceleration, it is a clear sign of ignition or fuel delivery failure. Schedule a diagnostic scan at the service center.

It is the third stroke in the cycle where combustion occurs. The spark plug ignites the mixture, and the resulting expansion forces the piston down, turning the crankshaft. It is the core power-generating mechanism of any internal combustion engine.

In my experience with maintaining bikes, the power stroke is the only stroke that actually produces power; the others just prepare for or clean up after it. When my spark plug was faulty, the power stroke failed completely and the bike wouldn't accelerate at all.
