What foods to stay away from with kidney stones?

I've had kidney stones twice now, and it's something I definitely want to prevent in the future. I'm focusing on my diet to achieve this. What foods should I make sure to avoid so I don't get them again?

I was looking this up and apparently, foods high in oxalates like spinach, chocolate, and beetroot are major triggers for calcium oxalate stones.

Avoid processed pickles, papads, and canned soups which have very high sodium levels. Simple home-cooked food and lots of water is the best way to stay safe.

Just keep your water bottle always full and stay away from too much salt and red meat! Your kidneys will thank you for keeping it light and clean.

Hey, don't stress too much about cutting out everything you love. Just stay away from excessive cola drinks and black tea, and make sure you drink enough water throughout the day.

No need to buy fancy bottled detox water. Just cut down on packaged chips and street food, which are high in salt, and save that money for your routine ultrasound tests.

My husband went through this painful phase. We just stopped using packed masalas and extra salt in our food, and he hasn't had another stone since then.

I panicked and stopped eating almost everything when I got a 3mm stone. But my doctor reassured me that just avoiding colas and processed salty junk is enough to prevent them.

It is important to avoid excessive sodium and animal protein as they increase calcium excretion in urine. However, please consult a specialist to understand your stone's composition before restricting foods like tomatoes.

Simply stay away from cold drinks, heavily salted snacks, and don't eat spinach daily. Drink water like your life depends on it, because it actually does.

Having to skip chocolate and cashew nuts because of stone risk is a real tragedy! But swapping them with almonds and fresh fruit keeps the cravings happy and kidneys safe.
