What drugs can cause a false positive pregnancy test?

I've heard some medicines can mess with pregnancy test results. My period is late, and I'm on some other medication, so I'm a bit concerned. What kind of drugs could potentially cause a false positive pregnancy test?

Oh, this can be really nerve-wracking, I totally understand the anxiety around it! I remember panicking about a false positive once. Some fertility drugs, especially those containing hCG (like Ovidrel or Pregnyl) which are used to trigger ovulation, can definitely cause false positives because they mimic the pregnancy hormone. Always good to re-test or confirm with a doctor!

My sister was going through IVF, and her doctor told her that some of the injections she was taking (hCG injections) would definitely show up as positive on a home pregnancy test, even if she wasn't actually pregnant yet. So yeah, some fertility drugs for sure.

It's important to know this, especially since pregnancy tests, and doctor visits, can add up. Some fertility drugs containing hCG are the main culprits. If you're on such medication and get a positive, don't rush to buy baby stuff! Wait for a blood test at the doctor's, which is more reliable. Saves you from unnecessary expenses and emotional rollercoaster.

Haan na, kitna tension hota hai aise time pe! Kuch fertility medicines hoti hain, jo ovulation ke liye dete hain, unmein hCG hormone hota hai. Woh pregnancy tests ko positive dikha sakta hai. Isliye agar aisi koi medicine le rahe ho na, toh doctor se confirm karna best hai.
