What does stress hair loss look like?

My hair has been falling out a lot more than usual, especially since my exams started. I'm wondering if it's stress-related. What does stress hair loss typically look like? Like, is it thinning all over or in patches?

I completely understand how heartbreaking it is to see chunks of hair on your pillow every morning, it made me cry so many times. With stress, you don't usually get clean bald patches, but your overall hair volume decreases drastically. Please hold on, once your stress levels go down, it actually does start growing back.

I was researching this because my friend is losing a lot of hair lately. Apparently, stress-induced hair loss, or telogen effluvium, looks like general thinning all over your scalp rather than just one bald spot. You will notice way more hair falling out in the shower or on your brush.

You will notice your hair parting becoming wider and a lot of hair falling while oiling or washing. Gently massaging your scalp with warm coconut oil mixed with a little amla juice can help strengthen the roots. However, if the hair loss is very sudden or accompanied by scalp pain, please consult a dermatologist.

I keep checking my hairline in the mirror every hour and it drives me crazy! Stress hair loss is usually widespread thinning rather than round bald spots, but it still looks very scary. Try not to stress too much about the hair fall itself, as that anxiety might make it even worse; we are in this together!

I know how terrifying it is to watch your hair fall out, it makes you panic that something is seriously wrong with your body. Stress hair loss usually looks like clumps coming out easily when you run your fingers through it, causing overall thinning. Take a deep breath, it is a very common reaction to stress and is temporary.

Haan na, when we take too much tension, the hair just starts falling in clumps. You will see so many strands on the floor and in your comb, it feels like the hair density has halved. Try to do some meditation and eat healthy food, the hair will slowly recover, ho na.
