What does sickness in pregnancy feel like?

I just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm feeling a bit off, a little queasy. My mother said it's normal 'sickness,' but I'm curious what being sick in pregnancy really feels like for most women.

Morning sickness can feel like constant nausea, dizziness, or vomiting, mostly triggered by certain food smells. While it's common, everyone's body reacts differently, so it is best to discuss your symptoms with your gynecologist. They can suggest safe ways to manage it.

During my first trimester, it felt like a continuous, low-grade hangover where even the smell of boiling milk made me want to throw up. I mostly survived on small sips of ginger water and dry biscuits. That was just my experience, but definitely tell your doc.

Watching my wife go through it, I can tell you it looked like she had a permanent motion sickness! She would look at a cup of tea and run to the washroom. It's tough, but hang in there—once the second trimester starts, things usually quieten down.

I completely understand how overwhelming and scary this feels, especially when you can't keep any food down. It feels like you are seasick 24/7 and your body is totally out of your control. Please don't worry, it's very normal, but do speak to your doctor so they can reassure you.

I freaked out when I had zero appetite and felt nauseous even in the evenings, thinking something was wrong with the baby. But my doctor smiled and said it's just pregnancy hormones doing their job. It's a very standard phase, so take a deep breath, it will pass!

It usually feels like an wave of nausea that peaks at certain hours, combined with extreme fatigue. I tracked my symptoms on a pregnancy app, which helped me identify that eating small meals every two hours kept the sickness away. Try tracking your triggers to manage it better!
