What does pregnancy poop look like?

I'm in my early pregnancy, and my bowel movements have changed quite a bit. Sometimes it's constipation, sometimes different. What does pregnancy poop usually look like? Is it different from normal?

Every change in your body right now is just a sign of a new life growing inside you. Don't worry too much about these things, just stay happy and positive. Eat fresh fruits and take care of your body, everything will settle down naturally.

I was actually reading about this yesterday because my sister is expecting. Apparently, iron tablets can make it look really dark green or almost blackish. It is so interesting how many things change in the body during this time.

See, it varies a lot depending on your diet and prenatal vitamins. Mostly, those iron supplements make your stools very dark and can cause some constipation too. Keep drinking lots of water and eat high-fiber foods to make things easier on yourself.

Honestly, I completely panicked during my first trimester when my stool turned dark green. I thought something was majorly wrong but my gynaecologist laughed and said it is just the iron tablets. It is totally normal, so please do not stress like I did.

Mostly it just looks darker and is harder due to the prenatal vitamins and hormonal changes. Totally normal thing.

I am newly pregnant and a bit shy to ask my doctor about this, but mine has been very hard and dark green lately. Is this normal or should I be worried about my diet?

Look, it is basically going to be dark green or blackish if you are on iron pills, and usually harder because progesterone slows down digestion. Just keep tracking your water intake and talk to your doc if there is any pain.

It is usually just a bit darker and harder than normal because of the pregnancy medications. Do not worry too much, dear, just eat well and rest.

My wife had this issue last year and her stool turned almost black because of the heavy iron tablets the doctor gave. We got worried but the doc said it is totally fine as long as there is no actual blood.

In my experience, my stool became very dark green and I had terrible constipation throughout my second trimester. Eating papaya (after checking with family) and drinking warm water at night helped me a lot personally.

Oh god, I spent hours searching this when I was expecting because I was convinced something was wrong. Mine was very dark and hard, which apparently is just the iron, but definitely check with your doctor if you see any red color or have severe pain just to be safe.

It can range from light brown to dark green, heavily influenced by your prenatal supplements and hormonal shifts. While minor color changes and mild constipation are standard, it is always safest to run any sudden changes by your doctor during your routine checks.
