When my wife had it, she described it as a permanent hangover but without any of the party the night before! Every single smell, even my perfume, would irritate her instantly. It's a miracle how women tolerate that constant nausea for months while managing everything else.
For me, it was this constant, heavy feeling in the stomach right after waking up, like sitting in a moving bus on a bumpy road. Even the smell of tea or tadka would make me run to the bathroom. Don't worry beti, it usually passes after the first trimester and you will get through this beautiful phase.
It can feel like general dizziness and an upset stomach, but during pregnancy, you must monitor your body very closely. When my wife had it, we also kept a regular check on her blood pressure because extreme nausea and dizziness can sometimes be linked to other health changes. Make sure to report all of this during your regular doctor visits.
My daughter went through severe morning sickness last year and she couldn't even keep water down initially. It is a very draining, weak feeling where even your favorite foods make you shudder. If you are unable to keep any liquids down, please talk to your doctor immediately for safe anti-nausea options.
