What does kidney disease body odor smell like?

My father has been diagnosed with kidney disease, and sometimes I notice a peculiar smell from his breath or skin. I'm wondering if it's related. What does kidney disease body odor smell like? Is it distinct?

Haan na, it actually smells like ammonia or a bit like urine, which is very strange. My neighbor's husband had this issue, and his breath and sweat had that distinct chemical smell. It happens when toxins build up, so getting a simple blood test is very important, ho na.

Honestly, it is a very distinct, metallic or ammonia-like smell, almost like a strong cleaning agent or stale urine. It even affects how food tastes, making everything taste metallic and ruining your appetite. If you or someone else is noticing this weird smell constantly, skip the heavy meals and get a doctor to check those kidneys.

When my father was diagnosed with kidney issues, I noticed a strong, urine-like scent on his skin and even in his breath. It wasn't like regular sweat odor at all and didn't go away after bathing. That was just our personal experience, so it's best to consult a medical professional for actual advice.

It actually smells like ammonia or stale urine, yaar. My uncle went through this, and no matter how much deodorant he used, that chemical scent was always there. It's because the kidneys aren't filtering out urea properly, so definitely get a renal profile test done if you notice this.

At this age, every new body smell makes me nervous! But joke aside, kidney-related odor is quite sharp, like public toilet ammonia or stale fish, and it comes from your breath too. If you are smelling like a science lab, it's time to stop ignoring it and visit the doctor for a quick test.

The body odor associated with advanced kidney disease is often described as 'uremic breath' or a urine-like sweat odor. This happens because the body tries to excrete waste products through sweat and breath when the kidneys fail to do so. It is a clear sign that you need to consult a nephrologist for proper evaluation.

It is so hard and embarrassing when you notice your body smelling like ammonia and you can't control it. I remember feeling so self-conscious and crying about it before we found out it was a kidney issue. Please know you are not alone, and getting medical treatment will help resolve both the smell and the underlying issue.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to notice a new, strange smell and start panicking about kidney failure. It usually smells like ammonia or urine because of toxin buildup, but please don't let anxiety take over. Book a simple blood test to check your creatinine levels and talk to a doctor to get some peace of mind.

Haan, that smell is quite different, almost like nail polish remover or ammonia, na. It is not like your normal gym sweat at all, and it stays even after a nice shower. Better to get the kidney function checked instead of sitting and worrying at home.

I was reading about this because I noticed a slightly different, metallic sweat smell recently and got worried. Does this ammonia-like smell happen only in very late stages of kidney disease, or can it happen early on too? I would be really grateful if anyone could share more about this.
