What does a negative pregnancy test look like?

My period is late and I took a home pregnancy test, but I'm not sure if I'm reading it right. What does a negative pregnancy test look like on those stick tests? Does it have one line or no lines at all?

When you take a pregnancy test, a negative result usually shows just one line, the control line. Whatever the result, remember to approach it with a calm heart. Life unfolds as it is meant to, and every phase brings new lessons. Stay positive and take care of your well-being.

On most at-home pregnancy tests, a negative result means you'll see only one line in the control window, and no line in the test window. Some digital tests will just display 'Not Pregnant.' Pretty clear cut, usually.

For a home pregnancy test, a negative result typically means only the 'control' line appears, confirming the test worked, but no 'test' line. Some digital ones will simply say 'Not Pregnant.' If you're unsure, it's always good to retest in a few days or check with a doctor for confirmation.

According to obstetric guidelines, a home pregnancy test showing a negative result usually means only the control line is visible, indicating the test was performed correctly but no hCG hormone (which signifies pregnancy) was detected. Digital tests will show text like 'Not Pregnant'. If menstrual period is still absent and you suspect pregnancy, it's advisable to repeat the test after a few days or consult a gynecologist for a blood test.

Oh, I've stressed over this so many times! A negative test usually just has one line, the control line, perfectly clear. But then I always wonder if I did it wrong, or if it's too early! It's better to just retest after a few days or go to a doctor for a blood test if you're really anxious, it gives a clearer picture.
