What does 4 weeks of pregnancy look like?

My husband and I are trying to conceive, and I just found out I might be 4 weeks pregnant! It's so early, I'm not sure what to expect. What does 4 weeks of pregnancy typically look like, both for the mother and the baby's development?

Haan na, at 4 weeks there is no baby bump at all, but inside, so much is happening! You might just feel a bit bloated and think your periods are about to start. I had mild cramping and was constantly checking if my periods had arrived.

I just got a faint positive test and I think I am around 4 weeks pregnant. Is it normal to feel a bit of lower back pain so early, or should I be worried? I am very new to this and feeling a little nervous.

At 4 weeks, the pregnancy is very fresh and physically you look completely normal. You might feel slightly more fatigued than usual during office hours or experience mild breast tenderness. It is best to confirm with a home test kit and schedule your first doctor's visit.

For me, 4 weeks felt just like PMS with some light cramping and extreme tiredness. I didn't have any morning sickness yet, that started much later. Everyone's body reacts differently at this early stage, so don't worry if you don't feel much.

At 4 weeks, the embryo is about the size of a poppy seed, so there are no outward physical changes. Hormonal shifts are beginning, which might cause mild symptoms like mood swings or fatigue. Please consult a gynecologist to start your prenatal vitamins like folic acid.
