What causes vomiting during pregnancy?

My sister is pregnant for the first time and she's constantly throwing up, morning, noon, and night. She's really worried. Is this severe vomiting normal in pregnancy, and what causes it?

It is mostly due to the hormonal changes happening in your body right now. Take plenty of rest and don't take too much stress, it gets better soon.

During both my pregnancies, I used to throw up daily till the fourth month. This is because of the sudden rise in hCG hormones and a sensitive stomach. Keep some dry biscuits on your bedside table and eat one before even sitting up in the morning.

Your digestion slows down a lot during pregnancy due to high progesterone levels. Focus on eating small, frequent meals rather than three heavy ones, and try a slow 15-minute walk after food if you feel up to it.

Yes, those early morning hormonal surges are definitely the main cause. Sipping ginger water throughout the day helped me control the urge a lot.

Actually yaar, my wife had this so bad in the first trimester. It is totally because of those crazy pregnancy hormones reacting to different smells. Just avoid strong masala smells for a while, it really helps.
