What causes unexplained weight gain?

Been trying to eat healthier and even started walking daily, but my weight is just going up instead of down. It's really confusing and frustrating. What could be causing this unexplained weight gain, even when I'm trying to be careful?

Unexplained weight gain is tricky, even my fitness tracker can't always pinpoint it! It's often more than just calories in vs. out. Hormonal imbalances like thyroid issues or PCOS are big ones, also chronic stress and lack of sleep. Sometimes it's medication side effects. I'd say track your sleep and activity using an app, then show the data to a doctor for a more informed diagnosis.

Unexplained weight gain isn't usually a mystery if you know where to look. It's often due to underlying health conditions like hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid), PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), or even Cushing's syndrome. Stress and certain medications also play a role. Don't ignore it; get a full medical check-up to identify the cause.

I'm curious about this too, it's something many people face. From what I've looked up, unexplained weight gain can be linked to hormonal imbalances, like thyroid problems or PCOS in women. Stress, lack of sleep, and even some medications are often cited as causes. It seems like it's rarely just one thing, but a combination of factors.

Dude, unexplained weight gain is super annoying, right? Like, you're not even eating that much extra, but the scale keeps going up. My friend had this, and it turned out to be her thyroid. Or sometimes it's just stress from exams, or not sleeping properly. I guess hormones also mess with things. Best to just ask a doctor, tbh.

Honestly, don't ignore unexplained weight gain. I put on weight rapidly once and thought it was just my metabolism slowing down. Turned out to be a thyroid issue. It could be hormonal imbalances like PCOS, thyroid problems, stress, or even some medications. Please get a proper checkup from a doctor, don't wait like I did.

Any weight gain that you cannot explain through changes in diet or activity should always be checked by a medical professional. It could be due to hormonal issues (like thyroid or PCOS), side effects of medication, fluid retention, or even underlying health conditions. For your safety, get a thorough medical evaluation; don't make assumptions.
