What causes pain on inside of knee?

My mother-in-law has arthritis, and now I'm starting to get pain on the inside of my knee. It's quite noticeable after I've been sitting for a while and then stand up. What could this be?

Did your pain also start suddenly while walking or climbing stairs? Mine has been hurting on the inside of the knee for three days now, and I am so scared it is something serious. Has anyone else experienced this and got it cured without major treatments?

I completely understand how depressing it feels when you can't even walk around your own house without pain. I was feeling so low and helpless when my inner knee pain dragged on for months. Please hang in there, take it one day at a time, and don't lose hope—it does get better with the right care.

My grandmother told me to apply warm sesame oil mixed with a little camphor for my inner knee ache, which gave some temporary relief. However, I went to our family doctor to make sure there was no ligament issue. It is always wise to balance our traditional home care with proper medical advice.

Pain on the medial side of the knee can stem from various structures, including the medial collateral ligament, meniscus, or even pes anserine bursitis. Because the knee joint is complex, self-diagnosing online isn't very reliable. The most logical step is to consult an orthopaedic specialist for an accurate clinical assessment.

It is absolutely natural to feel anxious and scared when your knee suddenly starts hurting like this. I used to stay awake at night thinking I might lose my mobility forever. Please take a deep breath; most inner knee issues are just minor strains or bursitis that heal beautifully with time and rest.

Before you rush for an expensive MRI scan which can cost upwards of 5000 rupees, just visit a government hospital or a local general practitioner first. Sometimes they can diagnose the issue with a simple physical exam and suggest basic exercises. This will save you a lot of unnecessary expenditure.

When I had inner knee pain, my doctor explained that it's often due to overpronation of the feet putting pressure on the joint, or a mild MCL strain. He advised me to wear supportive shoes and do quadriceps strengthening exercises under a physical therapist's guidance. Getting a proper diagnosis really changed my recovery path.
