What are the treatment of typhoid?

My younger brother has been down with a high fever and body ache for a few days, and the doctor suspects typhoid. I'm really worried. What are the usual treatments given for typhoid to help someone recover quickly?

Typhoid requires a proper course of antibiotics prescribed by a doctor, which you must complete fully. Along with that, keep drinking boiled and cooled water, and eat simple, easily digestible foods like khichdi and boiled potatoes.

Get a Widal or Typhidot test done first to confirm. Once confirmed, take the full course of antibiotics your doctor prescribes, even if you start feeling better in two days. Skipping doses causes relapse.

Typhoid is a severe bacterial infection that must be managed under professional medical supervision. Only a qualified doctor can determine the correct antibiotic and dosage based on your clinical evaluation and blood culture reports.

I totally get it, the high fever and weakness from typhoid can leave you completely drained. Just take your prescribed medicines on time, drink plenty of fluids, and give your body ample time to rest and heal.

Don't ignore the doctor's prescription for antibiotics, as typhoid is a bacterial infection. To help the recovery at home, give the patient lots of coconut water, ORS, and double-boiled rice to keep their energy up.
