What are the symptoms of typhus fever?

Someone in my village recently got very sick with a strange fever and body rash. They called it typhus. I want to know what are the typical symptoms of typhus fever so I can be aware, especially with monsoon coming.

Please do not search for random home remedies online for something like typhus. It is a bacterial infection spread by fleas or lice, usually causing sudden high fever, severe headache, and a typical rash. You absolutely need proper medical evaluation and antibiotics from a real doctor, not internet advice.

Years ago, we used to hear about these fevers with dark rashes and extreme body pain. It can feel very scary when the fever rises suddenly, but please stay calm. Modern medicine has very simple and effective treatments now, so just consult your doctor immediately.

I know we try many herbs and kadhas at home for general fevers, but typhus is different and needs strong attention. Along with the high fever and severe joint aches, people get very bad chills and rashes. Keep the patient comfortable, give them coconut water, but make sure a doctor prescribes the right medicine first.

Typhus symptoms usually include a high fever, hacking cough, severe muscle pain, and a rash that starts on the chest and spreads. It is often confused with typhoid or dengue, so don't self-diagnose. Go straight to a good hospital and get a proper blood panel done.

I panicked like crazy when my cousin had these symptoms like sudden fever, severe headache, and spots on the skin, thinking it was something untreatable. But honestly, once we reached the hospital, the doctor cleared all doubts and started treatment, and he recovered completely within a week. It is very manageable if caught early.
