What are the symptoms of mouth cancer?

My uncle has this small sore in his mouth that hasn't healed in weeks, and he chews tobacco. His doctor seemed worried. What are the symptoms of mouth cancer that one should be aware of?

In my years, I have seen many people panic over simple mouth ulcers. Usually, a real concern is a sore or red/white patch inside the mouth or on the lip that does not heal even after three to four weeks. If you have something like that or a weird lump, just get an expert doctor to look at it to be absolutely sure.

I can't even imagine not being able to enjoy my golgappas because of mouth pain! If you have a sore that makes eating spicy food painful, or a patch that bleeds, and it is not going away for weeks, that is a warning sign. Don't ignore persistent mouth issues, get a professional opinion so you can eat peacefully again.

Bro, I actually had a scary white patch in my cheek last year because of chewing gutkha and got super freaked out. The dentist told me that persistent ulcers, thick white or red patches, and difficulty in swallowing or moving the jaw are key symptoms. Luckily mine was benign, but I quit immediately. Get it checked by a doc, don't wait.

Don't go diagnosing yourself as a goner just because of one small pimple on your tongue from biting it! True warning signs are stubborn ulcers that refuse to leave your mouth for over a month, or loose teeth without any reason. Go to a dentist, let them do the worrying while you relax.

I completely understand how terrifying it is to search for mouth symptoms online and immediately think the worst. I spent sleepless nights over a normal mouth ulcer. If you have a sore that hasn't healed for weeks, or numbness in your mouth, please just see an ENT specialist or dentist to get peace of mind instead of googling.

While a clean, vitamin-rich vegetarian diet helps keep your mouth healthy, it cannot cure chronic lesions. If you notice persistent red or white patches inside your gums or tongue, or a hard lump that doesn't go away, these are symptoms that need a doctor's immediate biopsy, not just home remedies.
