What are the symptoms of low thyroid?

I've been feeling really tired all the time, gaining weight despite not eating much, and my hair feels a bit thin. My sister has thyroid issues and told me to check for symptoms of low thyroid. What are they?

I totally get it, feeling exhausted even after a full night's sleep and seeing your hair fall out in clumps can be so frustrating. Low thyroid, or hypothyroidism, often causes sudden weight gain, feeling unusually cold, and dry skin. It can make you feel really down, but getting a simple TSH blood test is the first step to feeling better.

If you are hitting the gym regularly but still gaining weight or struggling with muscle weakness and slow recovery, it could be a low thyroid issue. It slows down your overall metabolism quite a bit. Getting a thyroid panel test done is smart so you can adjust your nutrition and training properly.

I thought my terrible memory and fatigue were just due to my 3 AM sleep schedule, but my wife forced me to get tested and it was low thyroid! Other than feeling like a sleepy sloth, I also had random joint pains and constipation. If you're constantly zonked, go get your thyroid checked, seriously.

Low thyroid can make you feel incredibly lethargic, which makes starting any workout tough. If your doctor permits, starting with a gentle 30-minute walk daily can really help boost your energy levels and mood. Just don't push yourself too hard until your thyroid hormone levels are stabilized.

When managing low thyroid, you might experience stubborn weight gain and severe constipation. I found that increasing dietary fiber and avoiding raw goitrogenic foods like cabbage and cauliflower helped, but dietary changes alone aren't enough. You must consult an endocrinologist for the correct hormone dosage.

My grandmother used to suggest drinking coriander seed water for thyroid health, which is soothing, but I always advise trusting a doctor first. Classic symptoms of hypothyroidism are a swollen neck feeling, puffiness in the face, and extreme tiredness. Please get your T3, T4, and TSH levels tested at a good lab.

At 52, I blame my slow metabolism on age, but a sluggish thyroid can really double the trouble. You start feeling cold when everyone else is sweating, your skin gets as dry as a desert, and you start forgetting simple words mid-sentence. A tiny daily pill from the doctor keeps everything running smoothly though.
