What are the symptoms of childhood diabetes?

My 8-year-old son has been drinking a lot of water and going to the washroom frequently, and he seems more tired than usual. My mother-in-law said it could be diabetes. What are the symptoms of childhood diabetes that I should be watching for?

While giving kids healthy home-cooked food and cutting down on processed sugar is excellent, you cannot treat childhood diabetes at home. If your child is losing weight rapidly despite eating well, or is always tired, please take them to a pediatrician immediately for a proper blood test.

If a child is suddenly drinking bottles and bottles of water and still asking for more, or craving sweet drinks constantly, pay attention. Increased thirst and frequent urination are classic signs. Do get their blood sugar checked early so they can enjoy their childhood healthily.

My younger cousin was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when he was ten. He used to wet the bed suddenly after years of being fine, and he was always cranky and low on energy. It can be scary for the family, but early diagnosis and insulin management make a world of difference.

If the kid is constantly running to the washroom, even during school hours, that's a major sign, yaar. Actually, sudden weight loss and extreme fatigue are also very common in children with high sugar. Don't wait for things to settle on their own, just get a pediatrician's opinion.

My roommate's little brother had this and we noticed he was losing weight like crazy even though he was eating normal meals. If a kid is always thirsty and seems super tired all the time, it's really important to get their sugar levels tested.

As someone managing diabetes myself, I know how critical it is to catch the symptoms early. In children, watch out for fruity-smelling breath, extreme hunger, and sudden mood changes along with frequent urination. Please work closely with a specialist to manage their diet and insulin carefully.

Please do not trust any random internet posts claiming to 'reverse' childhood diabetes with bitter gourd or herbs. If a child has constant yeast infections, blurry vision, or extreme hunger, it is a medical issue. Go straight to an endocrinologist and verify everything with proper lab reports.
