What are the symptoms of arthritis in the knee?

My knees have been really stiff and painful lately, especially first thing in the morning. Getting up from sitting for long is also a struggle. My doctor said it could be early arthritis, so I'm trying to understand the symptoms better.

Knee arthritis typically presents as persistent joint pain that worsens after periods of inactivity, along with visible swelling. While maintaining a healthy weight helps reduce the load, consulting an orthopedic doctor is absolutely essential for a proper management plan. Avoid self-diagnosing based on online checklists.

I have been living with knee osteoarthritis for five years now. You will feel a grinding sensation, what doctors call crepitus, especially while climbing stairs. My biggest tips are to wear cushioned footwear, avoid sitting on the floor, and never skip your low-impact quadricep exercises.

At 70, my knees have seen a lot of life, and yes, the stiffness in the mornings can be quite tough. But don't lose heart, life doesn't stop here. Regular short walks and following your doctor's advice carefully will keep you moving comfortably for a long time.

My knees now predict the monsoon better than the weather department! Whenever it dampens, the creaking and swelling start right on cue. Honestly, a good hot water bag and a visit to my regular doc are my only saviors now.

Hello! I see this question a lot here. Along with the sharp pain while bending, you might notice that the knee looks slightly larger due to fluid buildup. It's best to get an X-ray done early so your doctor can advise if you need physical therapy or simple support bands.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels when your knees suddenly start clicking and hurting out of nowhere, making you worry about your mobility. I panicked so much thinking I wouldn't be able to walk, but getting a proper diagnosis from a kind doctor really calmed my mind. You will find a way to manage this, please don't stress.

For me, the telltale sign was struggling to get up after watching a long movie! 🍿 Your knees feel completely locked and stiff. Keep moving, stay positive, and definitely get a quick checkup done to keep those joints smiling! 😊
