What are the symptoms of arthritis in the jaw?

For the past few months, I've been having this clicking sound in my jaw when I chew or yawn. Sometimes it even aches a bit. My aunt mentioned it might be arthritis in the jaw, so I wanted to know what symptoms are common.

Look, if your jaw is clicking constantly and it hurts to chew your normal chapatis, that's a clear sign. Don't sit and tolerate the pain thinking it will go away. Go see a dentist or a rheumatologist directly and get it checked, simple as that.

Jaw arthritis can really mess up your nutrition if chewing becomes a chore. I had clients who struggled with morning stiffness in the jaw, making it hard to open their mouth wide for meals. Focus on an anti-inflammatory diet and soft high-protein foods while you get a professional opinion on the joint damage.

I had TMJ issues last year and it felt like a sharp, radiating pain right up to my ears. You literally hear a popping sound every time you talk or yawn. Don't waste time on random remedies; get an MRI or X-ray done through a proper specialist to see if it's arthritis.

I manage my high blood pressure with regular checkups, and when my jaw started aching, I feared it was a heart issue first. But the doctor confirmed it was localized arthritis in the joint. It is so important to keep your stress low and get regular medical screenings to catch these things early.

My doctor explained that rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis can target the temporomandibular joint quite easily. The key symptoms are limited range of motion, dull aching around the cheek area, and a feeling that your bite is suddenly misaligned. He advised against chewing hard gum and suggested a custom night guard.

My teenage daughter started complaining of severe jaw pain while eating and we initially thought it was just wisdom teeth. Turns out it was early joint inflammation affecting her jaw movement. We had to switch her to a soft diet of khichdi and soups, and regular physiotherapy sessions helped her a lot.
