What are the signs and symptoms of kidney stones?

My husband had a severe pain in his back and side last week, and the doctor said it might be kidney stones. He's never had them before, so we're a bit clueless. What are the signs and symptoms of kidney stones?

Actually, my flatmate had this last year yaar. He suddenly got this crazy pain in his lower back that went down to his groin, and he was literally crying. If it hurts while peeing or you feel pukish, get an ultrasound done.

I totally get it, the pain can be absolutely terrifying. Usually, it starts as a sharp, unbearable pain in your back or side, and sometimes you see pink or cloudy urine. Please go to a hospital if the pain is too severe.

Severe flank pain and burning while passing urine are typical signs. Since metabolic issues can sometimes contribute to stones, getting a doctor's follow-up and basic blood tests is a very smart move.

Kidney stones cause intense, wave-like pain in the back and painful urination. Since I have diabetes, I have to be very careful with my fluid intake and diet to prevent these. Please check with your doc for a proper scan.

I was reading that kidney stone pain is often compared to childbirth pain because it is so sudden and intense. Other signs are fever with chills if there is an infection, and blood in the urine. Sounds scary!

Unbearable pain in your lower back or side, and nausea, are the classic signs of kidney stones. Go see a doctor soon.

If you have sharp pain in your back/side that comes and goes, along with nausea or blood in your urine, it points to a stone. Drink plenty of water but definitely get a doctor to write an ultrasound to confirm the size.
