What are symptoms of an eye stroke?

My uncle recently had some problem with his vision suddenly, and the doctor mentioned something about an 'eye stroke'. I'm a bit worried for him. What are the common symptoms one should look out for?

Oh, this sounds scary! I've been reading about it and it seems like the main symptom is sudden, painless vision loss in one eye. Like, it just goes dark or blurry all of a sudden. Sometimes it can be partial loss, like a shadow coming over your vision. Immediate medical attention is needed, apparently.

My neighbour had something similar a few years back. His vision in one eye suddenly went cloudy, like looking through fog. He thought it was just old age but his children insisted he go to the eye doctor. It was indeed an eye stroke. It's a serious thing, so don't ignore any sudden vision changes, even if there's no pain.

Yaar, eye stroke sunke hi darr lagta hai. Actually, from what I know, it's often sudden and can be like a curtain coming down over your vision, ya. No pain involved usually, which makes it even more tricky. If it happens, you need to see a doctor like, right away. Don't delay.

My friend's father had this. One morning he just woke up and couldn't see properly from one eye. We rushed him to Manipal Hospital. The doctors there clearly said any sudden, unexplained vision loss, even if painless, means you need to get to an ophthalmologist or emergency room ASAP. Ask your doctor clearly what to look out for if you have risk factors like high BP or diabetes.

Namaste. An eye stroke indicates a blockage in the blood flow to the retina. The key symptom is usually a sudden, painless blurring or complete loss of vision in one eye. While pranayama and a calm mind help overall health, for such an acute event, immediate medical consultation is paramount. Do not delay at all.

From my experience, the hallmark of an eye stroke, or retinal artery occlusion, is indeed a sudden, dramatic, and usually painless loss of vision in one eye. It's often likened to a 'curtain' or 'shade' coming down. It's an emergency, just like a brain stroke, and requires immediate medical attention to try and restore blood flow and save vision. Time is critical.
