What age can a child get kidney stones?

My child has been complaining of stomach pain sometimes, and a friend mentioned kidney stones can occur in kids. At what age can a child potentially get kidney stones?

My grandmother used to say children can't get kidney stones because they run around so much, but modern doctors say even toddlers can get them now. It is usually due to less water intake, high sodium foods, or sometimes genetic reasons. Always consult a pediatrician if the child complains of tummy pain.

My cousin's 8-year-old son actually developed a small kidney stone last year because he barely drank any water and loved salty chips. The doctor just advised him to double his water intake, and thankfully it passed on its own.

Kids these days consume too much packaged processed food containing hidden sodium, which increases stone risk. Giving them fresh homemade food, coconut water, and limiting processed snacks is a safer way to protect their young kidneys.

With school and busy schedules, kids often forget to drink water. My kid's doctor said even school-going children of 6 or 7 years can get stones. I now make sure to send two water bottles to school and check if they are finished.

Chhote bacchon ko bhi pathri ho sakti hai aajkal. Garmi ke mausam mein bacchon ko nimbu paani aur dahi ki lassi zaroor pilaya karein taaki unke pet mein thandak rahe aur paani ki kami na ho.

In our times, we rarely heard of children getting stones, but lifestyle change has altered everything. If a child of any age has pain while peeing, don't wait. A simple pediatric consultation will give you peace of mind.

I can barely keep myself awake to track my own water intake, let alone my teenager's. But yes, teenagers absolutely can get kidney stones, especially with their love for soft drinks and salty snacks. Keep them hydrated!

I thought kidney stones were a mid-life crisis thing, but apparently, even a 10-year-old can get one if they swap water for soda. Keep the soft drinks away unless you want to hear them scream like a siren!

Listen, there is no age limit for kidney stones anymore, even babies can get them if there's some metabolic issue. Stop self-treating with random juices and take the child to a proper doctor immediately if they cry while urinating.

Don't panic, it is rare in very young kids but it can happen at any age. Just make sure your little one is drinking plenty of water throughout the day. If you notice any blood in their urine or if they complain of sharp pain, just get a doctor to check it out.

Kidney stones can affect children of any age, including toddlers, though it is more common in teens. The key is to reduce sodium, avoid excess animal protein if they are older, and ensure they drink enough fluids so their urine is clear, not dark yellow.

We thought our 12-year-old had normal stomach gas or muscle pain and ignored it for weeks with home remedies. It turned out to be a 5mm kidney stone. Please get an ultrasound done if your child has recurring back or side pain.
