Should i wash my hair everyday if i have dandruff?

My dandruff is pretty bad, and my hair gets oily fast. I wash it every day thinking it helps with the dandruff, but is that actually okay? Or am I making it worse?

My daughter had really bad dandruff and her pediatrician actually told us not to wash it everyday. It can dry out the scalp even more and irritate it. We found that washing every other day with a medicated shampoo and then a regular gentle one on other days helped balance things out.

Oh, I was wondering about this too! My scalp gets so itchy. So, washing every day is not good then? What about using just plain water on the days you don't shampoo?

Hmm, like how too much of a good thing can be bad for your diet, same for hair too maybe? Washing everyday might strip oils and make your scalp unhappy. I'd say give it a break every other day. Maybe a nice hair mask with curd and lemon would be good too!

After my workouts, I sweat a lot and feel like I need to wash my hair, but for dandruff, it's a tricky balance. I find that washing too often can sometimes make my scalp drier. Focus on a good diet and staying hydrated too, that helps with overall skin and scalp health.

Don't just believe everything online. Washing everyday for dandruff can be counterproductive for many. It's best to consult a dermatologist. They can identify the type of dandruff and recommend the right frequency and products, instead of trial and error.

My dear, the key is balance in everything, just like in life. Over-washing can sometimes strip away the natural oils your scalp needs, making dandruff worse. Be gentle and listen to what your body needs. A calm mind also helps with many physical ailments.
