Is weight gain a sign of cancer?

My uncle has been losing a lot of weight without trying, and someone in the family mentioned it could be cancer. But I've also heard that some cancers can cause weight gain. Is weight gain ever a sign of cancer?

I actually went through cancer treatment last year and can tell you that sudden unexplained weight loss is much more common than gain. But honestly, any major body change needs a proper checkup. Please don't stress yourself out on internet forums and just get a doctor to run basic blood tests.

Honestly even I got super scared and searched this online last month when my weight suddenly went up. Did anyone else also get scary Google results for basic symptoms? It is so stressful to read all that when you are already feeling off.

Keep your mind calm and do not let fear take over. Our bodies react to our thoughts, so staying positive is very important right now. Take a deep breath, take care of your daily routine, and visit a doctor with a calm heart to get a proper diagnosis.

In my experience with managing health issues, random weight gain is usually linked to metabolic changes, thyroid, or even diabetes medication. I had to get my diet and insulin levels thoroughly checked by my doc when my weight fluctuated. Don't jump to the worst conclusions, just get your blood sugar and thyroid profile done first.

Please do not ignore any unusual changes in your body. I once kept ignoring minor symptoms thinking they were just normal fatigue, and it led to major complications later. It is always better to be safe than sorry, so book an appointment with your doctor right away to rule out anything serious.

Beta, please do not worry unnecessarily. Usually, weight gain happens due to slow digestion, water retention, or lack of proper sleep. Try having warm water with ajwain in the morning and eat light ghar ka khana for a few days, but if the swelling or weight doesn't settle, consult a good doctor.

Bro, chill. I gained like 8 kgs in three months last year and thought something was seriously wrong with me. Turned out to be pure stress eating and a totally messed up thyroid. Just go get a routine blood test done, no point sitting and overthinking this.
