Is vomiting and diarrhea a sign of labor?

I'm in my last trimester and have been having some cramps and back pain. Today I also started having vomiting and diarrhea. My mother said it could be a sign of labor. Is vomiting and diarrhea a sign of labor?

Yes, it actually can be. My gynaecologist explained that before labor starts, your body releases prostaglandins to empty the bowels so the uterus can contract easily. But please track your hydration, and if you have strong cramps too, check in with your hospital.

I totally get it, dealing with upset stomach when you are already so close to delivery is so exhausting. Many women go through this as the body prepares for labor. Just take rest and let your maternity ward know what you are feeling.

Please get checked by your doc immediately. I ignored severe loose motions thinking it was just labor prep, but it turned out to be a stomach infection that caused dehydration issues for me and the baby. It's always better to be 100% safe.

During my second pregnancy, my body completely cleansed itself like this right before labor. Keep your mind calm, practice deep slow breathing, and sip warm water. Your body knows how to prepare, just listen to it and consult your doctor.

Yes, totally normal! My body did the exact same thing just a day before my delivery started.

Oh sweetheart, don't stress too much! It is actually super common because the body is clearing out space for the baby to arrive. Just stay hydrated with some coconut water and give your doctor a quick call to keep them in the loop.

My wife went through this exact thing last year. We panicked thinking it was food poisoning, but the doc said the body naturally clears out before labor. Keep the hospital bag ready just in case!

I would highly recommend calling your doctor right away. I had severe vomiting near my term and thought it was normal, but it caused my blood pressure to spike dangerously. Please don't take any chances and get evaluated.

According to my pregnancy tracker app, hormonal shifts right before labor can cause acute gastrointestinal issues like this. Keep logging your symptoms and contractions if they start. Make sure you are drinking enough fluids and update your doctor.

Hey, my elder sister literally had this last month right before her labor pain kicked in. We were so confused! It is definitely a thing, so maybe call your doctor now?
