Is vomiting always a symptom of food poisoning?

Last night I ate something from a street vendor and today I've been feeling really sick. I have diarrhea but surprisingly no vomiting. Is vomiting always a symptom of food poisoning?

I used to panic and think any stomach ache was severe food poisoning. But I realized you can have food poisoning with just loose motion or zero vomiting. It is reassuring to know that the body has different ways of clearing out toxins.

Not always, actually. Sometimes food poisoning just presents as mild stomach cramps, nausea, or diarrhea without actual vomiting. Listen to your body and stick to light walking to keep digestion active only if you feel strong enough.

Just got over a bad case of food poisoning from raw salad last week. I only had severe watery stools and shivering, but absolutely no vomiting. So yes, you don't necessarily have to throw up to have it.

Honestly, as a street food lover, I have had my share of bad stomach days! Sometimes it is just crazy gas or diarrhea, no throwing up at all. But it still ruins your weekend cravings, so stick to home food for a bit.

No, sometimes your body spares you the vomiting but makes you run to the washroom every ten minutes all night instead. Honestly, I don't know which one is worse when you are already sleep-deprived. Just keep the ORS handy.

My doctor told me that food poisoning symptoms depend entirely on the type of bacteria or toxin ingested. While Staphylococcus often causes rapid vomiting, other pathogens like E. coli might only cause severe cramping and diarrhea. It varies a lot.

My health log showed my heart rate was elevated during a mild food poisoning bout, but I had zero vomiting—only nausea and abdominal cramps. It is super helpful to track these symptoms to understand your body's specific response patterns.

No, vomiting is not always present; sometimes the body purifies itself in other ways. Keep your mind calm, stay positive, and drink simple cumin-infused warm water to help soothe your digestive tract naturally.
