Is valerian root safe during pregnancy?

I'm pregnant and have been having a tough time sleeping lately. My mother-in-law suggested valerian root, saying it's a natural remedy. I'm hesitant to take anything during pregnancy, so is valerian root safe for me and my baby?

During my pregnancy, I had terrible insomnia, and someone suggested valerian root. But my doctor strictly advised against it. She said there isn't enough research to confirm its safety for pregnant women and developing babies. So I avoided it completely.

Please, please do not take any chances with anything during pregnancy without asking your doctor. I once took an over-the-counter cough syrup thinking it was harmless and later found out it wasn't recommended. Always confirm with your gynaecologist, even for herbal stuff.

Pregnancy sleep can be so tough, and it's totally normal to look for solutions. But when it comes to any herbs or supplements, it's such a grey area for pregnant women. The stress of not knowing if something is safe is real. It's best to talk to your doctor, they can suggest safe alternatives.

My mother-in-law always has many home remedies, but for pregnancy, I only trusted my doctor. They are the best to say what is safe for both you and baby. Please, talk to your gynaecologist before taking valerian root or any such thing.

For anything ingested during pregnancy, the risks are just too high to guess. With high BP, I know how important it is to be careful with everything. Get a clear green light from your doctor before even considering valerian root.

Nah, dude, I don't think any herbal stuff is safe without a doctor's okay during pregnancy. My sister-in-law was told no to almost everything. Better to be super careful than risk anything. Just ask your doc directly.
