Is vaginal pain a sign of labor?

I'm in my last month of pregnancy, and I've been having some new vaginal pain, a bit like pressure. Could this be a sign that labor is starting soon, or is it just another pregnancy discomfort?

My gynaecologist explained that some vaginal pain late in pregnancy, especially pressure, can be a sign the baby is engaging or that your cervix is starting to thin. However, intense, rhythmic pain or pain accompanied by bleeding or fluid leakage needs immediate medical attention. It's crucial to differentiate between mild discomfort and actual labor pain.

Don't rely on random internet forums for this, yaar. Labor signs are serious. If you're having vaginal pain and you're pregnant, pick up the phone and call your doctor or go to the hospital. Only a medical professional can tell you what's actually happening.

Oh, I remember having some weird vaginal twinges and pressure in my last trimester and totally panicked! Turns out it was just the baby settling lower. But seriously, if you're worried, please call your doctor or maternity ward. Better safe than sorry!

It can be confusing when you feel new pains during pregnancy. If you are close to your due date, it might be. But please check with your doctor for peace of mind.

Any pain during pregnancy, especially vaginal pain, warrants a call to your obstetrician. At a good hospital, they'd advise you immediately on whether to come in or wait. Don't self-diagnose labor; it's too important.

I had intense pressure and some sharp pains down there just a week before my delivery! I thought for sure it was labor. My doctor said it was my body getting ready. But I still went in to get checked, and you should too if you're concerned.
