Is swelling normal in pregnancy?

I am in my second trimester, and my feet and hands have started swelling a bit, especially by the evening. My mother-in-law says it's normal, but I'm still a little concerned. Is swelling during pregnancy truly normal, or should I be worried?

My sister was pregnant last year and her feet used to swell a lot. Doc said it's normal but to keep an eye on it. If it gets too much or spreads quickly, then need to check with the doctor again.

Light swelling, especially in feet and ankles, is common because of increased blood volume. But if it's sudden, severe, or affects your face/hands, that's a red flag. Stay active with gentle walks and keep hydrated, but definitely talk to your ob-gyn.

Yes, mild swelling, especially in the feet and ankles, is quite common in pregnancy. It's usually due to fluid retention. Just keep an eye on it and mention it to your doctor during your checkups.

Thodi swelling toh aati hai pregnancy mein, haan. Paani theek se piyo, pair upar karke baitho. Par agar bohot zyada ho ya face pe bhi aa jaaye toh bina soche doctor ke paas jaao. Woh important hai.

Oh, it's completely normal to worry about every little change during pregnancy! Swelling is one of those things that can be normal, but also a sign of something else. So, while it's often nothing, it's always worth mentioning to your gynaecologist for peace of mind.
