Is sneezing a sign of pregnancy?

My period is a bit late and I've been sneezing a lot recently, even though I don't feel sick. My friend joked it could be a pregnancy symptom. Is sneezing actually a sign of pregnancy?

In my days, we noticed many strange changes in the body during pregnancy, including a stuffy nose and sneezing, which people call pregnancy rhinitis. It happens because of increased blood flow and hormones. Don't worry, it is quite common, but take a simple pregnancy test to be absolutely sure.

Sneezing alone is not a primary or reliable indicator of pregnancy; it is usually just a cold or an allergy. However, hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause nasal congestion, which might lead to frequent sneezing. The most accurate way to confirm is to take a home pregnancy test or consult your doctor.

If sneezing was a sign of pregnancy, my dusty bedroom would have made me a father of ten by now! Seriously though, some women do get nasal congestion due to pregnancy hormones, but a simple test kit from the chemist is the only way to know for sure. Don't rely on sneezes!

I have been sneezing a lot this week and my period is also two days late, so I am feeling super anxious about whether it's related. Did anyone else experience constant sneezing and nasal congestion as their very first sign of pregnancy, or is it just a normal seasonal allergy?

My wife's gynecologist explained that increased estrogen levels during pregnancy cause the mucous membranes in the nose to swell, leading to a condition called pregnancy rhinitis which makes you sneeze. However, it's a secondary symptom. You should wait for a missed period and take a standard beta-hCG test for confirmation.

I totally get how you feel, when you are trying to conceive or worried about pregnancy, every tiny body change makes you overanalyze. While nasal swelling can happen in early pregnancy, sneezing is usually just due to dust or weather changes. Try to take a deep breath and do a urine test to clear your mind.
