Is six hours of sleep good?

I'm trying to improve my sleep hygiene, but it's tough with a toddler. If I get six hours of undisturbed sleep, is that considered good for my health, or is the 7-8 hour rule strict?

Ideally, adults should aim for 7-9 hours of sleep for optimal physical and mental recovery. Six hours might leave you feeling sluggish, which can affect your workout performance and overall energy levels. If you're consistently getting only six, try to gradually add another hour, it makes a huge difference to your fitness goals.

As a parent, I see how important sleep is for my kids' growth and mood. For adults, 6 hours is generally not enough for sustained energy and health. Most doctors recommend 7-9 hours. If you're consistently getting only 6, you might feel the effects later on. Try to extend it, even by a little bit, it really helps.

Beti, 6 ghante toh bahut kam hain. Sharir ko pura aaram chahiye. Raat mein sone se pehle thoda garam doodh peelo ya pairon mein tel ki malish karalo, acchi neend aayegi. Agar phir bhi neend nahi aati, ya din bhar thakaan rehti hai, toh doctor se baat karna achha hoga.

While some individuals feel rested on 6 hours, for most adults, a deeper rest of 7-8 hours is more beneficial for body and mind. It allows for proper repair and rejuvenation. If you find yourself feeling tired or irritable, perhaps a few minutes of mindful breathing before bed could help you extend your sleep naturally.

Having PCOS, I've learned how critical good sleep is for hormone balance and overall well-being. Six hours is generally on the lower side for most adults, including those with health conditions. It's often recommended to aim for 7-9 hours. If you consistently get only 6, observe how you feel during the day. Don't be overconfident about less sleep, it can catch up.
